The week of October 24th represented the final share distribution for 2011. And what a week of good eats it was. Crisp and lovely greens from peppery arugula to curly kale, mustard greens and my personal favorite, collard greens. We had carrots, beets and sweet potatoes. A plethora of healthy food all from our wonderful Farm. I am sad to see the year end, but happy to know we are readying the ground already for the coming Spring–plowing under current areas, planting cover crops that naturally energize and reinvigorate the soil, determining what items will be planted and finding the best local sources we can.
So I will relax back for the winter, give thought to how I might find even more time next year to help plant and harvest, give appreciation for the wonderful opportunity to be a part of this group, and stop by the Greensboro Curb Market on Saturdays to buy the few items still growing on the Farm available at Daniel’s table.
Another great year. Thanks Steve and Daniel and Lee and everyone! See you April 2012!
